Spotify In India - What's the big Deal?

So What's the hype about Spotify being launched in India, We have have tried it to find out what unique services the Music streaming service brings to the Indian users.

First of all we need to remind users that the CEO of spotify Daniel Ek has recently said that “India has an incredibly rich music culture and to best serve this market, we’re launching a custom-built experience. Not only will Spotify bring Indian artists to the world, we’ll also bring the world’s music to fans across India. Spotify’s music family just got a whole lot bigger.”.

This means that Indian Users are going to see large catalog of music being made available for streaming in upcoming days. Over 1,60,000 songs in Hindi and Regional languages are already availble on spotify.

Users have two plans to choose if they want to use spotify services in India, which are :-

1. Rs13/Day , Users can pay Rupees Thirteen everday and use it as long as they want.

2. Rs 119/months, Which will get users the premium access to spotify music for a month.

Now the question here is, that the choice of music is different for everyone, and since India is such a diverse country with so much music being released every week, It may become difficult for the Spotify India to keep up, Besides there are other streaming services already available in the market like JioSaavn and Gaana, Apple Music and Amazon Prime Music , which can give quite a competition to the new entrant.

Whether the Indian Users are willing to pay more money for their favourite music, we will find out in the days to come.
